DEEDS OF KINDNESS
Sometimes you may give a smile
To someone on a busy street,
Talk to a stranger for a little while,
Small deeds to all those you meet.
You may not think it much to say
Hello to some one you dont know,
To admire a baby who to others may
Be rather plain, and you interest show.
I just took a pile washing off a line,
Now she calls me a friend for all time,
It wasnt very much, just a little thing,
But to her this act great joy it did bring.
Never think a kind word or a smile
Does not count for anything at all,
It may help a soul over a rough mile
Or be there for them so they dont fall.
So give a smile and say a kind word
It will not take a lot of time to care
Perhaps your voice the only one heard
The only person to be just there.
