EARNESTNESS
As we plod through life a friend we should take
His name’s Earnest, a good companion he’ll make,
If we are earnest and hardworking in all that we do
We will show honour to all our whole lives through.

Earnest will help you be truly helpful in every way,
Sleep with a clear conscience at the end of the day,
Grow in integrity, wisdom, through earnest our friend
If he’s our constant companion, with us to the very end.

Parents will be honoured, we’ll be someone to trust
To be earnest in our walk through this life is a must,
Hard working in every endeavour, never ever shirk,
No cheap shorts cuts, no idleness in us ever lurk.

The importance of being earnest is there for all to see,
So come friend earnest, let me develop you within me,
The virtues that develop because you become my friend,
Will help me live through life, to be unafraid at the end.
