FINGERPRINTS
From the moment that we awake
we leave fingerprints everywhere,
Everything we touch will always show
that we for a length of time were there.
No two sets of fingerprints are alike,
each have their own unique set,
No one, not even identical twins
can ever be just the same,
They are our own so what we touch
will in a way show our name.
That fact is not important in any way
as long as we do not do wrong,
Fingerprints are everywhere around
that is where they belong.
Then I thought, just like fingerprints
what impression do we leave?
If our actions left fingerprints behind,
would we smile or would we greave?
Set our this day to do what is right
and make it a much better day,
May each face that shows brighten
a persons life in some way,
The impression that you leave behind
be a fingerprint of love,
Not an image that from the memory
people will want to scrub.
Fingerprints dont matter at all
yet impressions always do.
We should be kind and thoughtful
all the time, every day through,
Be that ray of sunshine peeping
from behind a cloud so dark,
Be an example for good as in
search of truth you embark.
Seek for ways of helping those
who are in dire need,
Look and find the hungry souls
a simple meal to feed.
Sow a seed of hope in a lost heart
that has gone far astray,
Then the impression that you leave
will bless other along lifes way.
