SELF MASTERY
When we achieve self mastery
we begin ourselves to know,
For we are not truly ourselves
until control we always show.

Mind over matter sounds so easy,
is the first step to self mastery,
We say no when we want to say yes
we then are starting to be free.

Then the next step is harder I feel
some obtain it while on earth,
Some love the Lord well enough
and know of it’s eternal worth.

The spirit over your body every
step in life you take,
Always putting God and others
first, good choices always make.

Mind over matter, spirit over body,
turns us into disciples true,
Trains us for a good life on earth
ready to live eternity through.

Can you imagine a soul in heaven
who is stubborn and self willed?
No, we need to be as soft clay
molded by His hands so skilled.

Put forth the effort to try and gain
self mastery so God may use you,
Form you into a worthwhile child
serve Him your whole life through.
