MONEY ENOUGH

Money is a needed thing, when enough is earned
Through life, of needful things we are not concerned,
Enough to have for those you love to be sheltered and fed,
Have enough clothes to wear and a warm cozy bed.

Money enough sometimes to have fun together,
Money enough so you don’t worry about the weather,
Money enough that your sleep is not disturbed by debt,
Enough to save a little incase of something you forget.

But not too much that your money takes control,
Yet enough to keep you out of getting in a hole,
Not too much that you lavish and spoil a life,
But enough to keep you free from trouble and strife.

For it is the love of money that breaks a worthy soul,
Turning wants to needs, thinking money makes you whole,
Grasping, scheming, clawing, pushing, more money at the top,
You may become rich and quite famous, but life is a flop.

So just enough money to see you through each day,
Just enough money for the bills you need to pay,
Just enough to help you realize that you need God above,
And so pay your tithes to Him with gratitude and love.
