CEDAR SHINGLES

Have you ever cedar shingled a home from roof to floor?
The only things you missed were windows and door,
Everyone working at a great pace for the work to be done,
Now it is all finished, how the compliments come.

We look with pride at our handiwork now complete,
Save for the water sealing, that will be a real treat!
Now we get ready with ladders, rollers and brush
To seal our work from winter, rain, winds that rush
And summer heat, that will be our great aim,
So soon we will all work like mad together again.

But then we will remember the shingling time,
That the weather was hot and a little too fine,
We’ll remember the love that came though,
By being all together as a family true.
