WHAT IS IN A NAME
What is in a name some people my say,
Names chosen because they sound okay,
Or do some seek for characteristics fair,
Or call the child anything, they don’t care?

For girls with flowers you can’t go too wrong,
Or even a name found in some old love song,
There are new made up names, they can be fun,
Especially if you want to be different than everyone.

In future poems we’ll cover meanings of a name,
Find out the unusual ones, that will be my aim,
Some have the oddest meanings Leanne for one,
Means, canoe maker! do you want me to go on?

How about Abigail, that means father of joy
Maybe the first one born should have been a boy,
Marianne means bitter, what a crying shame,
To have that meaning to a such a pretty name.

When I write other poems, boys I won’t forget,
Warren is defender, you didn’t know that I bet,
Philip is lover of horses, I will not now go on,
But I’ll write more poems and so end this one.
