CANADA DAY THOUGHTS

Bring out the steaks, brings out the drinks
Lets watch all the fireworks in the dark of night.
Watch the parade with it’s red and white theme
What do we think of as we watch each sight?

Do we give thanks for the freedom we have
To choose where we work and things that we do,
Free to worship how we like, and free to speak,
Free to vote and even if you wish be elected to.

Do we give thanks for a land that has plenty of riches
A land that grows almost everything we need to survive
A land that has beauty of mountains, forests and lakes
A land that should make you really glad to be alive.

Do we give or just take do we care or not give a hoot?
Do we cultivate the beauty or do we spoil and destroy?
This land is ours with it’s freedom and it’s many riches,
Let us save it and cherish it for our children to enjoy.

So when the July first holiday comes around this year,
Look at our flag of red and white and give a good cheer
Cheer for the freedoms and blessings that we all enjoy,
Cheer and cherish the fact that we can live without fear.
