I’LL DO IT
(RThis version to be set to music)

It’s hard to forge ahead when there’s things you have to do,
And there are many obstacles piled up high in front of you,
The worst one of them all is that great big, ‘I can’t’ attitude,
‘Yes you can’ I want to shout, but that would be very rude.

But when there is a job set out for you all, then get it done,
Yet there another obstacle to slow you down will come,
It’s, ‘I’ll try’, but that will not stick, try may not be enough
If the pathway is hard and steep and the road be rough.

‘I’ll try’ is better than ‘I can’t’ any old day of the week,
But it may not be enough for the tasks that God does seek,
So put away these attitudes and go forward with a will,
And give of your all and the Lord all the cracks will fill.

‘I’ll do it’ means you will give your all, more than your best,
No matter if people laugh and scoff you’ll have passed the test,
So always lengthen your stride and do it so work will get done,
Because it is by the ‘I’ll do it’s’ that salvation will be won.
