WHAT I CANNOT CHANGE
The other day I got to thinking about things I cannot change,
Things that others say and do are out of my personnel range,
It’s no use fuming and fretting because I’m not in control,
I must just accept the facts and with those punches roll.

I cannot change the weather, I cannot slow down or time stop,
But I can wrap up cosy and warm, use time wisely, work until I drop,
I cannot make the storm go away or stop a tornado rushing by,
But I can be prepared for disasters and offer help, with the sad cry.

Lord, give me the wisdom to know when it is I that must alter,
And when I can do nothing, even watch others struggle and falter.
Give me wisdom to know when to offer help and when to hold back,
But, Lord, always give me the kind of heart that will never lack.
