ALWAYS HAVE HOPE
Some hopes of mine through life, realized have never been,
I have had many dreams thwarted, fallen castles seen.
My plans dashed on the sharp rocks of disappointment,
As through this life I go plodding, always heaven bent.

But even when things don’t work out, plans go wrong,
In my heart, hope, will still stay, I’ll always sing a song
Of love, for hope springs eternal, brightens each day
For in this life we cannot always have our own way.

As disappointment comes as with trials our path is strewn,
And the things hoped for, even when righteous and in tune,
Will teach us the gift of patience, work in God’s own time
He is telling us in His own gentle way, ‘My will, not thine.’

Hope and faith go hand in hand, needed to light the way,
There to give us strength and courage to live every day,
There to give to a sad heart a promise of better times,
There to let the sinner know he can be freed from his crimes.

However many times dreams are thwarted and hope dashed,
However many times my heart with trials are cruelly lashed,
Whatever happens day by day, with hope I’ll carry on, always,
For there’s a purpose in dashed hope, learn to trust His ways.
