CONVOCATION
After years of study, hard work and pain,
Everyone is so happy, that is very plain,
Humble pride shines in their tired faces,
They have made it through those hard paces.

Family and friends hurry to find a good seat,
No one bothered about the crowding and heat,
They are there to cheer their hero, load and clear,
Feel the anticipation as the procession draws near.

All stand as they enter they deserve that courtesy,
There are so many there, your student can you see?
In twos they walk, the bagpipes playing very loud,
The Dean and professors in robes stand tall and proud.

At last they are in place, and ‘ O Canada’ we sing,
Singing it all together was a very special thing.
The speakers do a great job, not boring at all,
Then the wait and you listen for that special call.

There is many a hoop and a holler of joy
As the people greet that special girl or boy,
Now onto fame and fortune very soon,
Unless they marry and start a new baby boom.
