YEAR’S END
Farewell dear friend, your life will soon be gone,
I will stop and contemplate what with you I’ve done,
Year, have I used you well? Or wasted precious time?
Soon your final bell will toll, I will hear the chime,
Will my year have been wasted on things that matter not?
Worried and fussed about things that don’t matter a jot?
Or will you be in my book of life as a year of growth and love,
One where I was striving to be ready for my home above.
It’s too late for a crash course on accomplishing a great task,
But there is one thing I need next year, please don’t pass so fast.
