THE VALUE OF WORK
A job maybe kind of boring, not interesting at all,
Not very important, that must be done what’re befall,
To you it’s just a job that’s a pain that has to be done
Nothing at all exciting and never really very much fun.
All work is of value, teaches us some new skill,
Even if it seems mundane, and sometimes it will,
But look on the bright side and you may find,
If you change your attitude. it won’t be a bind.
Wiping tables at some cheap hamburger place
Could put a bright smile on your tired face
If you look how nice and clean the tables shine,
Then smile at folks , and the work will seem fine.
Enjoy every single thing you do, make life fun,
And whatever the job, when your day is done
You will feel that you have accomplished a good day,
Then work will feel much better thinking that way.
All work if of value as long as it is wholesome and good,
Nothing is mundane, even washing clothes covered in mud,
Or washing floors and tables, things always have to be clean,
Just as important as if the master chef you all day had been.
Surgeon, nurse, or the person who washes the dirty floor
All have a job to do, each as important as the one before.
We all cannot be the surgeon, but what the Lord does require
That we work well, with a cheerful heart and are worth our hire.
