More poems about Summer
DELIGHTFUL DAYS
Warm summer days delight us at this
time of year,
Of it being too cold outside we now
have no fear,
Just glorious days of summertime and
refreshing rain,
Days of cheerful bird songs lovely
happy refrain.
Days of gentle warmth a feeling of
sweet paradise,
Such a big difference from the chilling
cold and ice.
Welcome summer weather we hope you
can longer stay
And not too soon wander to other
climes far away.
But grace us with your presence, let
fall be a little late
And then she can stay over to a much
later date,
So reducing some of winters long grasping,
freezing pain,
For I admit I much prefer the gentle sweet
smelling rain.
