        DEAREST SWEET SAVIOUR
Dearest and sweetest Saviour of all mankind,
Is there any way that I could possibly find
To try and pay the debt of gratitude to Thee,
For Thy suffering and sacrifice in lonely Gethsemane?

No one else could ever pay so great a cruel price,
No one else ever perfect enough for that sacrifice
For sin, the one lamb totally unblemished and pure
And for this Thee I will forever wish to adore.

How much suffering was just because of me,
How many drops of blood drained slowly from Thee,
So as to wipe away all my sufferings, sin and pain?
That I may one day with Thee in Thy heaven reign.

Always until that suffering Father was by Thy side,
Working as one with Him, to heal, to bless and to guide,
Then to make the atonement that perfect sacrifice divine
Father had to leave Thy side, be alone in anguish to pine.

The burden of all sin and pain was all paid for by Thee,
Every wicked act great or small and every cruel atrocity,
Was placed with Thee on and none can understand the pain,
Even Thy close friends slept their watchfulness was in vain.

Yet my part is so simple, to repent from every single wrong,
Worship the Father through Thee in action, deed and song,
Keep the commandments and follow the right, straight path,
And because of Thy sacrifice I’ll have all our Father hath.
