More poems about Memories

I REMEMBER
I remember as a child each long warm summer day
When it seemed night would never come our way,
The happy days of childhood with little responsibility
And afer the morning chores was able to run free.

My tasks were messy but easy soon finished and done,
Then across the meadow and over the brook I’d run,
Climb the big oak tree that was ten people around,
There many treasures could always be easily found.

Then we would gather and play in the meadow sweet,
Gather the flowers to take home give mother a treat,
Have a quick lunch and then take my friend a book
And in the heat of the day find some shady nook.

Home in time to help with the meal and be together,
During those summer days it always was good weather,
Or those the days I remember in my childhood memory,
And I often wondered why they took down that big tree.
