WILDERNESS
Some of the lakes are jewelled ripples in the sun,
Others like mirrors and so double beauty is won
As we see in perfect image everything around,
Wilderness enhanced so even more joy is found.
After a rain storm there appears a brighter green,
And many more shy wild flowers can be seen,
The sky is a more vivid blue the horizon very clear,
If we are truly blest we see a fawn and mother deer.
Living in the country with horses, cows and sheep,
With farm yards where hunting cats often creep,
With fields full of many good crops growing free,
But it is the beauty of wilderness Id rather see.
For there is a closeness to nature strong and true
That seems to bless you as you wander through
Thick forests and find pristine lakes and you hear
The call of the wild and you know God is near.
