More poems about Prayer.

YOU CANNOT PRAY A LIE
There is a special feeling when you kneel down to pray
And all you need to talk about comes flooding your way,
Being thankful for your blessing, show true gratitude,
And always remember when we eat to the bless the food.

Now the long chat, as for family and friends we intercede,
Trying to remember all the many things and those in need,
Our son’s family really need to move much too far away,
For them to sell the house I only a halfheartedly did pray.

The words would not come at all for deep down inside
I want them to stay, in praying a lie, shame I couldn’t hide,
They need to go a voice said so very quietly in my ear,
They need to be an example, a child needs this family dear.

I felt so ashamed of myself I had tried to pray a big lie,
But even then a voice of comfort quietly told me why
And a peace overwhelmed me for I felt His great love,
And I had confirmation that prayers are heard above.
