A PLACE WE LIKE
One day through grass and brambles to peek we did climb,
A family restaurant and motel too, by a shimmering lake
And if we were a few years younger this we would take.
I see a lush carpeted floor and real paintings on the wall,
Linen tablecloths and napkins, lit candles standing tall,
Good music softly playing some sweet relaxing melody,
All the patrons quietly chatting as the menu they do see.
Healthy homemade food, nothing too fancy would be there.
For breakfast anything from cereals to a hungry miners fare,
A plate is filled with a pickerel fillet, two eggs, beans cold or hot
Bacon, hash browns, pancakes, toast, and Ive seen them eat the lot.
Lunch meals would be just a sandwich and soup, homemade,
For there would be need for rest and to find some needed aide
For the evening meal that you may all sit and dream about,
But there would be roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, no doubt .
