More poems about Winter.

        THE JOYS OF DEPARTING SNOW
It is a joy to see the grass and even the gravel on the road,
And slowly be able to see many a creatures hidden abode,
One thing I had not thought of that I saw just yesterday,
Was a seagull have a bath in free water, then he flew away.

From where we were it seemed there was joy on that face,
A long needed bathe to help him fly with much more grace,
Then I thought I saw an otter slither in the ice cold lake,
Yes, the departing snow brings joy and happiness does make.

Great patches are showing and I saw some buds upon the trees
And migrating birds need feeding ,returning on a warm breeze,
The woodpecker can now peck and his food more easily find,
Oh, it is so good to leave the signs of long winter far behind.

To bathe at last that seagull thought as it splashed around,
I see the shining sun said the grass as freed was the ground,
We can come out of hiding shouted all the creatures now awake,
Oh, what a big difference the departing snow and ice does make.
