More poems about Forever.

        GRAVES LONG FORGOTTEN
I wandered through an old graveyard, the wind was still,
Everywhere was very quiet on that gently sloping hill,
The higher I climbed the stones aged, long they had slept,
One seemed to draw me close too as I reverently stepped.

It was the brow of the hill that took the force of every storm
The words written were faded badly, almost too well worn
To read, a simple message crudely carved in the stone
‘Here lies my Elizabeth and how my heart does groan’

Not one flower was seen anywhere around the place,
Then I thought those lovers could now be face to face,
Gathering in God’s garden flowers so truly fair to see
And now know they can be together for all eternity.

For these names were all gathered and temple work done,
All the lonely waiting over a great battle had been won,
I hope that man was found so his Elizabeth he could hold
In his long empty arms and be together in Gods eternal fold.
