A JOYOUS DAY
There is a joy in every heart on this your special day,
When you are baptized and all past sins washed away,
The right step on the narrow path to God’s eternal home,
And He will be right by your side wherever you may roam.
This path leads to the temple where eternal vows are made,
And the promises given will keep you from being afraid
Of the parting pain of death for together you will ever be,
Husband and wife together in eternal love and harmony.
The angels sing in heaven and rejoice with us on earth
For you are a special son of God who is of great worth,
A blessing to any family a great treasure to forever share,
So welcome to the fold and serve God with love and care.
Step by step from now on you’ll learn from day to day
The knowledge and wisdom that will always lead the way
To live eternally with those who love you, close by your side,
So our joy and tears would be so very hard for us to hide.
