ARTISANS
Some of us are poets, words flow like swift streams,
Others paint or draw in any different media it seems,
Then others decorate cakes, that seem to come alive
Go, look in the bakery and have a pleasant surprise.
Watch them work as they do many a squiggle and flower,
Draw words and names with steady hands by the hour,
For any special occasion they decorate a cake just for you,
With a lovely artistic touch that can be done by very few.
I write this poem to say thank you for the talent you share,
For the wonderful cakes decorated by you with much care,
I can show a pretty flower with words that flow, but you
Can all create sweet beauty to eat as it comes into our view.
