LIKE TO FIND AGAIN
I found a place once, long ago, Id like to find again.
A place of tranquillity and beauty that is hard to explain,
A small stream entering a lake beside a forest of green,
With wild animals, almost tame, not minding being seen.
There stood a deer with her fawn, still wearing a spotty coat,
A robin near my hand, I could have touched its red throat,
A family of otters having fun in the rapid clear stream
Almost inviting me to join them like a magical dream.
The massive lake sang a sweet, gentle, swaying lullaby,
A flock of geese vee shaped flew across the blue sky,
The air was heavy with fragrance of many a wild flower
And the lofty trees kept tune with the lake that special hour.
In the distance I could hear some children at their play
On some sandy beach along a soft sand strewn bay,
The birds voices joined in the sound and sleep came,
Yes, that place again, for myself, I would like to claim.
