BUT WINTER IS STILL HERE
I long to see the children playing in the park
And hear the rapturous song of the lark,
Feel the warming breeze blow upon my face
And smell the flowers as they grow in grace.
But winter is still here.
I long to take a walk and wander on a trail
In the distance hear the loons so sadly wail,
See a carpet of trillium on the forests floor
Know I wont freeze as I go through the door.
But winter is still here.
I long to have a picnic beside a mighty tree,
Share outside the love and laughter of family.
Swim and feel the sun warm the water there
And run in the sand the wind drying my hair.
But winter is still here.
One day soon, I hope, winter will fade far away,
And we will enjoy the warm weather one day,
Although I love the winter I really wont sigh
When finally I wish her beauty a last Goodbye
But winter is still here.
