ANGELS IN MULTI-COLOURS
Last week I was gravely ill, no strength
and feeling bad,
The thought that I had to stay in hospital
made me quite sad,
But there were smiling faces with eyes that
shone with care,
And although I hurt and shook I knew I was safe
right there.
Gentle, kindly voices, hands with the right gentle yet
firm touch,
All of them glided and you could feel they cared so
very much.
A mass of multi-coloured tops took such great
care of me,
The names I wish I could remember but they
know who they are,
Some of the best nursing I’ve had in hospital
by far.
Each one a guardian angel although no
wings did show,
Thank you for your tender loving care and
sweet gentleness,
And may your own kindly actions your loved ones
ever bless.
