IN CONTROL
In inclement weather a trip we had to take
Through snowy forests, past many a frozen lake,
First road conditions were poor, covered in snow,
But they improved as farther south we did go.
‘I feel I could turn to cruise’ my husband did say,
I replied, ‘Control is only a touch of the brake away’
I thought about this statement for our everyday life,
And if we stayed in control we’d be free from strife.
To brake and slow down, stop harsh words from flowing,
Think how many good seeds we may be sweetly sowing.
Control is only a touch of the brakes away you can see
Both in the car you drive and in life of hostility be quite free,
Just this simple remark made me just stop and think
That the bitter cup of anger we would never ever drink.
