NOT REALLY OLD
I do not feel at all old in spirit and mind,
It’s my body I seem to be leaving behind,
Dragging me back from doing what I can,
Spoiling many times a well thought out plan.

A very active mind that has ideas galore,
That makes me with eagles want to soar,
But my body is falling to pieces I fear
And my aspirations are no longer near.

If I felt old I think that would be worse,
A withered mind would be a great curse,
For ideas bring much joy to me every day,
I can still write and read as indoors I stay.

I am so happy that I feel young at heart,
And that my mind will still to do it’s part
Bringing sweet messages of encouragement,
And that my days are not idly spent.
