BIG TOE PROWESS
I have big toes that I can cock up high in the air,
They look kind of funny as I stare at them there,
Almost ninety degrees each one on it’s very own
Since I’ve not been well this prowess is still shown.
I cannot walk very far especially in the very cold weather,
I cannot ride a bucking bronc either loose or on the tether,
I cannot climb a mountain like I used to when young,
I can still stick my big toes up so things aren’t too wrong !
I could clean the home all through as quick as could be
Whizz round and do the shopping, after working you see,
Teach early morning seminary, get the kids off to school,
Never stopped running, that was my special golden rule.
But now I have slowed down, up my big toes still exercise,
Still do it night and morning or give visitors a surprise,
I always thought that this was normal for all to often do,
But by the odd looks this simple act is done by very few.
