More poems about Spring.

OLD SAYING
There is an old saying, a warn January brings a cold may,
Being it’s plus eight today, I really don’t know what to say,
The sun is bright and it should be minus about twenty one
If t his keeps up all the pretty snow will be melted and gone.

It maybe all my fault this magic kind of happenstance,
I wrote a poem hoping spring could come early by chance,
Then when I went outside no icy cold wind did I even feel
In fact the January weather seemed almost to be unreal.

Yet I love a May that is pleasant with soft breezes on the air,
And all the flowers carpet the earth with a spring splendour rare,
No frost or cold snow to show itself in the glorious month of May,
So I hope the saying is wrong, it’s just a fluke that came our way.
