        BE A FRIEND
No one should ever be all lonely, but have a friend,
Someone to rely on, someone on whom they can depend,
That very special person who is willing to be there,
If you do not have that someone please do not despair.

I’ll be your friend and I’ll hold your hand when sad,
I’ll be there to laugh with you when you are really glad,
Just a little phone call away with a comforting word,
A shoulder to cry on if that is what’s needed or preferred.

When you are blessed with your life’s companion true
And you look at others and that relationship is through.
Death’s sting has struck please don’t leave them alone,
Bring them into the circle make them part of your own.

No one should be friendless there’s enough love to go around,
Seek out the lonely, I know there are many to be often found,
A warm, kindly word, a phone call or a little visit for awhile,
Will cheer up a lonely heart and make them want to smile.
