        WARM BLOODIED
Humans are warm bloodied or so I have been told,
I learned this simple fact when I was not very old,
But sometimes I wonder if this law applies to me?
For more often that not I am as cold as I can be.

Since my heart attack, it has to be a very hot day
For me to put my coat and sweaters far away,
My fingers are always cold except when in bed,
If they wander above the blankets they become dead.

A hot water bottle is a must on a cold snowy day
And a warm cozy blanket to keep those chills away,
My blood pressure hits rock bottom, my pulse so slow,
But I am quite alright as long as I can keep on the go.

Yet today in the car, with snow falling everywhere,
Inside the vehicle there is plenty of nice warm air,
I actually took off my gloves, scarf and warm coat
And for awhile of cozy warmth I could freely gloat.

Today my heart is beating fast which is very fine,
But with that and water pills I always have to be
Ready for trips to the bathroom they come frequently,
And when I’ve been I am all cold again don’t you see.
