        WRAPPING UP THE GIFTS
There is a wonderful feeling as you wrap each gift.
That Christmas glowing sensation that gives a lift
On a wet, cold and windy day it is such a thrill,
And see the pile get ready to send away at will.

As I wrap each gift chosen with great love and care,
I can imagine eyes sparkling as the gifts are there
Underneath each tree waiting for the big day,
And the laughter as the pretty paper is torn away.

This year we’ll share with our youngest family
The joy of Christmas as we watch with jollity,
Four young grandchildren with eyes so bright
Trying to get to off sleep on Christmas night.

Then on Christmas morning I’m sure they’ll wake
Very bright and early and screams of laughter make.
However early the hour may be I know we want to see
Each face glow and bring back many a precious memory.

So as the gifts are wrapped and hidden safely away,
The sweet joy of Christmas so swiftly comes my way,
I’m glad we shopped early, just a few gifts remain,
Then when purchased the fun will come once again.
