A FAMILY OF PINE
A cluster of young pines gathered close together,
Wrapped up in rich green in all sorts of weather
Like a kindergarten or a very large, young family,
Now which big one is teacher or parent of those I see.
There is no rope to hang onto, a child safe strategy
That keep human children safe that we quite often see,
If someone were to come, dig a pine up to take away,
Would the teacher or parent just die and fade one day.
There are lots of baby pines at the edge of the forest green,
Always such a lovely sight that is so very often seen,
How many of us want to adopt one, have it for our very own,
Lets stop and think of the adult pines how they would moan.
