LAZY SUN
I know the sun is awake, yet she has not yet raised her head,
It seems that for a little while she wishes to stay in bed
Tucked up warm in the cloud blankets in the eastern sky.
I do hope she gets up before much more of the day goes by.
Now, see, she raises her head from pillow and blanket there,
But no, she did not get up to show her bright face so fair.
I suppose every now and then she can have a lazy day
And rest for a while, at least she has sent her rays to stay.
Now she arises in great regal beauty and warming grace,
Putting a happy smile on many a gloomy and sad face,
It will be quite warm today although November has come,
More Indian summer days has her stay in bed sun won.
