FALL AND WINTER
Fall is almost over, so cold winter is on the way,
The grass is still green and snow flurries dont stay,
The sun has lost most of its heat, nights drawing in,
At the end of October and sure that fall will still win.
Though even when the wind does not waft or blow
The trees, and all is still, downward many leaves to go,
Many stark, naked trees stand everywhere around
With multicoloured round their roots on the ground.
Now the stately pines seem to stand alone and strong,
Protecting the remaining birds as they sing their song,
A few changing tamarack still grace the dying scene
With special grace and beauty that before had not been.
Looking at distance horizons some golds still remain,
So fall is hanging on nor releasing her lovely domain
To the cold hand of winter, fall tries to keep her away,
But all to soon winter will arrive one freezing day.
