NATURES CHRISTMAS GIFT
The waning moon wended her way across the
cloud dappled sky,
Still shining bright in her lovely nightly glory
as she glided by,
Myriads of stars glittered, trying to dodge the
clouds fluffy canopy,
Almost warning us that much more crisp, cold
snow we would see.
But tonight was extra-special, this was
another Christmas eve,
As the dazzling night sky planned a gift for
all to receive.
First we saw moon and stars to worship in
their realm above,
Then so very gently and quietly sent down
snow with love.
Then awakening Christmas morn with the sun
rising bright and clear
To greet us at Christmas as if nature knew
who was born,
And celebrating in her own glorious way on
that lovely morn.
Gazing through the window and at the decorated
old front door,
We stood and stared in wonder at the magnificent
beauty we saw,
The lights on the Christmas pine and the garlands
draped around
Diminished in their loveliness as natures free
gift we found.
