More poems about Summer.

        BRIGHT AND SUNNY
It is a bright and sunny morning and fall is in the air,
The wind is keen and is drying the washing without a care,
The sun is going to give us more warmth as she sails high
Across the sweet domain of her vivid, clear blue sky.

The loons have gone, just one gaggle of geese remain,
Although there are still many birds the feeder does claim,
The seagulls still squark if only a few crusts come their way,
And look very indignantly at us for the rest of that day.

One song bird still sings his doleful little song each morn
Maybe wondering where his friends are and seems to mourn,
Yet he cheers those who hear him at the break of the day,
As the shades of the night so gracefully fade far away.

The leaves are slowly turning, still lots of green everywhere,
And there is still lots of wild life activity here and there.
Today is so bright and sunny you think summer remains,
Until the wind blows and the blood feels thin in your veins.

Lunch time it will be warm, but for how many more days?
Yet the fall will come to us in multicoloured brilliant days,
With the last of the crops and the last fruits on the tree,
But summer can stay just a little longer to please me.
