SUN AND MOON
The full moon hung quite low in the
western sky
Just as the vivid red rays of the sun
was close by
Dispersing the pall, but the moon was the
last to dim,
As the sun in great glory the daily battle
did easily win.
The sun’s rays painted the sky with colours
so bright
That the full moon seemed to gasp at the
lovely sight,
And we, seeing both, marvelled at this early
Sabbath glory
And thought of the second coming, it’s
such a great story.
Shall the moon wait for the rising sun
on that great day,
When then Lord shall come and take
all sin away?
Will the stars also shine waiting for
the day divine?
I hope I’ll be worthy, part of that morning
will be mine.
