SHEEP HERDER OR A SHEPHERD
A sheep herder has an important job leading the sheep,
But he does not need to know them or in each heart peep,
Get them safely to the pasture or grazing ground that day,
Taking care of them along the rough, stony or smooth way.
If one or two went astray, just wandering off somewhere,
He then told the shepherd, it was he that always took care
And loved each sheep, knew each one by their own name,
When he called, they, if they heard always running came.
Ill try and be a good shepherd to those in my tender care,
Love them, lead them, guide them, let them know Im there,
If they go astray Ill listen out for their sad, lonely cry,
Go and seek them and come rejoicing with a happy sigh.
Get to know each one by name, be willing to freely sacrifice,
Use all your time and talents nothing less will ever suffice,
For we want to be like the Master, the true shepherd we all know,
Ill try to be a good shepherd and Christlike ways try to show.
