A NEW GAME TO PLAY
Since weve lived in Cobalt some new games have come our way.
One is exploring mine sites new things to see nearly every day,
The other is watching the trains that go rushing past the front door,
The freight trains roar and rattle with different products galore.
When we were small the steams trains we used to go and see,
But here we just stand by the door and watch with childish glee,
The one just past was extra long, 150 rail cars pulls by engines four,
We stood-by about 15 minutes watching in child-like awe.
We are like young kids and we stop everything and run,
Hoping we have not missed when it first train begun,
The crash of the wheels and the clank of the rails,
Plus the blowing whistle is part of the joy it portrays
They dont come often enough our longing to fulfill,
Even in the night when they come and all is very still
That first blow of the whistle gives us a special thrill.
I dont think the trains will bother us never have our fill.
