More poems about the Sky.

BEFORE THE SUN
Today before the sun arose, deep red
filled the sky,
These rays seemed to make the low
lying clouds fly
Higher, so they would not mar the
coming of the sun,
Then just before seven the vivid
red orb begun
Her journey across the great expanse
of bright blue,
Giving us another day either good or
bad to do.
The seagulls fly on tinted wings turning
to ruby red,
The raucous chorus of the crows is enough
to wake the dead,
The loons fly low over the changing lake
and others join in,
In the early morning to have fun and
add to the din.
Awake! Awake they seem to say to those
who still rest,
Come see the day begin when she appears
at her best.
