A PERFECT DAY
Today is the kind of day that should never end,
A gentle, warm sun with a breeze on us does descend,
The trees dance in grace and beauty everywhere you go,
And the song of the birds is a sweet and constant flow.
The clouds flit across the sky making designs up above,
Many different things we see, look! Theres a sweet dove
And a bunch of flowers and a full rigged sailing ship.
The vessel seemed to be floating along at a tidy clip.
The air is clean, fresh, late flowers scent the breeze,
It is also Sunday so after church all rest and ease,
Just a meal to cook and then share the pure delight
Of a later summer day that seems both calm and bright.
