More poems about Birds.

MEETING NEW FEATHERED FRIENDS
Now we live in Cobalt many different
birds we see,
Some old friends but many a new
type of variety
Graces the bird feeder and all the
trees around,
It will take us awhile until all their names
are found.
One that’s like a bob-o-link but not
quite the same,
Or a sap sucker but the yellow is much
more plain,
The grosbeak is too red, the tanagers
the wrong range,
To try and name them is hard, they all
seem quite strange.
But as we gaze and watch they bring us
much happiness
And it doesn’t matter if we don’t know
names I confess,
Yet soon or late we’ll find out each new
friends name
And a little more knowledge of nature
be able to gain.
