FEELINGS WITHIN THESE WALLS
Most of the time this was a happy house,
full of good cheer.
A place of refuge, a protection from harm
and a shelter from fear,
A haven of rest, a place to welcome
someone back home,
However far away loved ones wandered
or did roam.
On cold winter nights across the lake a
light did shine,
A ray of hope for anyone who was alone
and did pine,
I know that this door wants to be open and
let the hungry in,
To lock it and turn away a stranger would
be a great sin.
A happy home, a contented home, one that
wants to share
The blessing of food and comfort to
anyone out there.
There will always be a light left on to
guide folks here
Where they can rest a little awhile and be free
from all fear.
