LOOKING FOR THE LIGHT
In the cloudy sky a beam of sunlight did brightly gleam,
Cutting through the gloom to me sweet hope it did mean,
Showing that even on the darkest day, light can shine for you,
So never get discouraged when many a trial you go through.
Somewhere is a lining of silver or gold to come your way,
To shine through in brightness on your worst or darkest day,
Stormy clouds do not last forever, one day the sun will shine
And sooner than you think everything will turn out fine.
Look for that ray of sunshine or lining on a cloud of gray,
Hope, like some lofty banner will help light come your way,
Walk through a storm and keep sweet heaven in your sight,
Then when the clouds depart the sunshine will be more bright.
Once I prayed for light on a dark and storm tossed night,
I fought off fear, longed to see even a small flickering light,
I lit candles and a lamp, the light gave me strength to see
The love of the Lord, He shows the way to set you free.
