        A STORM WATCH WARNING
I thought I heard a storm watch warning on the radio,
Tornados in the area as the summer heat does grow,
Although they think they may strike almost anywhere,
Especially with this still humidity in the oppressive air.

At the moment the skies are quite blue with a low haze,
The trees hardly move about and on the lake as I gaze
There is hardly any motion just an odd small wave,
Yet in a tornado it churns, then swallows like a grave.

Yet the beaches of Lake Ontario swarm with many a family
Keeping cool at the water’s edge, playing in pools with glee,
Unaware of the danger that looms maybe just hours away,
Are they being brave or foolish on this hot summers day.

Then I thought it doesn’t matter when twisters blows through,
You may get carried away or it may completely miss you,
Unless all through the warning in your basement you stay,
Then maybe some safety through the storm come your way.

So much cruel devastation in such a short space of time,
Only a few minutes or so to complete the terrible crime,
Although nature is beautiful it pleases both heart and eye,
But when there is a storm warning keep watching the sky.
