ALMOST GONE
Almost gone are the pretty blossoms on our tree,
Now the dark green leaves we can clearly see,
I still, though faded, see the beauty that dwelt
And the fragrance lingers and the joy we felt.
But dark green leaves tells summer is coming in,
Also tulips and daffodil fade by the window sill,
It means that the summer flowers will soon appear,
Dressed in glorious colours as warmth draws near.
The morning chorus also heralds longer warmer days,
And the hazy summer hours will spell out holidays,
Lazing in the garden, by some lake or roaring sea,
It doesnt really matter in summer we want to be free.
Free from hustle and bustle and the troubles of life,
Tuck away in some closet all your worry and strife,
Just find a place to enjoy nature see her prettiest,
Then wait for fall when some say she is at her best.
Time flies by and each season can be almost gone
Before the wonderful scenes before us are all done,
As now we look back remembering our flowered tree,
We look forward to summer and record the beauty we see.
