More poems about birds.
THINGS THAT MATTER
High up I saw an eagle gliding
on still wings,
Silhouetted in the setting sun and
joy it brings,
A simple sight of bird and sun and
coloured sky,
But a sight Ill remember even past
the day I die.
His white feathers now glinted pink kissed
by the sun,
One flap of his wings, a dive and then
he was gone,
A few moment of grace seen and engraved
on my mind,
Just like many parts of nature that are
easy to find.
All we need are eyes to see, a heart that
want to know,
The things of nature how they work and
how they grow,
A searching mind more knowledge to
learn and gain
For these are the things that matter if His
glory we gain.
